FBCJ Families:

In Deuteronomy 6, we discover that God’s desire is for His people to love Him with their HEART, SOUL, and MIND. In other words: LOVE GOD COMPLETELY! But we also discover that this all consuming love is developed in the home. At the same time, most parents feel inadequate to lead their children spiritually. Family Ministry at FBCJ seeks to walk along side families to equip and encourage parents as they seek to faithfully disciple their children. We also supply extra support through our children and youth ministries.

                                 FBCJ KIDS:
Attend First Baptist Jonesboro, and you’ll see how much we love children! We believe children are a gift from God and that He has called parents to evangelize and disciple them in the Word of God.  Our desire is to help parents in this endeavor by offering a community of teachers, volunteers and church members who seek the same goals. Whether our children are at home or at church,  we want them to understand the great news about Jesus Christ, who came to die for sinners.

Mission Statement:

To partner with parents to evangelize and disciple their children through education, fun, and fellowship in a safe environment that allows for each child to move toward a personal relationship with Christ and to continue to grow spiritually.

FBCJ Youth:

Like children, we believe teenagers are special. They are in a very important stage in life and parents have to be intentional in the discipleship of their teenagers. Similar with children, our desire is to help parents in this endeavor by offering a community of teachers, volunteers and church members who seek to disciple teenagers.

Mission Statement:

Worship Team

At FBCJ, we believe God CREATED and COMMANDS His people to sing. But more importantly, those who have been redeemed should be COMPELLED to sing.

We believe the music portion of our worship services are very important. We seek to sing to, and about, our Savior every time we come together as a local body of believers!

For these reasons, our Worship Team works hard to lead the music portion of our Sunday morning service.

Practice is every Sunday evening at 4:30pm in the Choir Room!

His Hands Ministry:

His Hands Outreach Ministry is sponsored by First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and supported by numerous churches in the community including Beech Springs Baptist Church, Caney Lake Baptist Church, Jonesboro United Methodist Church, St. Lucy’s Catholic Church, Siloam Baptist Church and Springhill Baptist Church as well as many individuals and Jonesboro Walmart.  The store front ministry is now open Monday through Thursday mornings from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. for food and clothing distribution free of charge to Jackson Parish residents in need of assistance (based on income guidelines) as well as providing household items for burnout victims and school uniform assistance.

Currently over 400 families receive grocery assistance once every three months and over 100 individuals receive clothing assistance once every 30 days. The ministry’s long term goal is to be able to provide grocery assistance to our families every other month but we need your help to do so both financially and by being our volunteer base.  Donations of clothing and household items are also needed.  Any items that we are unable to use are sent to Rolling Hills or to Charity Shoes and Clothing in Dallas, Texas.  You may drop off donations by our front door on weekday mornings before 10:00 a.m. After that time, please leave your donations on the ramp by the side door.  Please note that all food donations need to be dropped off on the ramp regardless of the time of donation.
